This may be the perfect opportunity for you!Our well-established company in north Spokane is looking for a solid Accountant/Full charge bookkeeper to add to the management team!This is a position that is very busy January-February, 45-50+ hours a week, starts to tapper down the rest of winter to normal 40-45, and is about 30 hours a week during the summer months. This is a salary position and perfect for the outdoors active type, someone who loves the 4 seasons and enjoys a team, family, and fun type of culture.This is a fast paced and fun environment, especially if you enjoy a variety in your days. We are an “all hands-on deck” mind set when we need to be. So, be ready to pitch in when needed.This role will include strong budget work, producing financials , strong analysis, enjoy crunching numbers, looking at trends, must be strong with QuickBooks on-line, ability to custom build reports in QuickBooks and Excel, , great w/ Excel and MS Office suite, JE's and ability to adapt to specialized software specific to industry - someone who is quick on feet and loves multi-tasking is best for this position!We have about 300 employees, payroll done in-house now, with potential switch to ADP, this person will manage one support person, manage the 4+ mm budget and very hands on full charge through financials-This person is also involved in the HR side, which is big during winter season, yet there is support from the different department managers for the hiring-There will be multiple cash drawers need to be balanced each day and would oversee that process.The chosen candidate must be comfortable with snow driving, being in and out of the different temperatures the seasons bring and enjoy the great outdoors!Jan-Feb is peak season with working 5-6 days a week when needed/ winter sat-sun is the busy time and would get 2 weekdays off. Realistically working 50+ hrs in winter/ 30 in summer is normal.100% paid medical, dental and vision for the employee, 3% cost of living increase annually. 2 weeks’ vacation- / by 3rd year 4 weeks’ vacation. Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Demonstrated knowledge of bi-Monthly Payroll
Budget management experience required
Background working with journal entries
Adeptness in Microsoft Excel
Proficiency in budgeting
Experience with Quickbooks Online
Practical knowledge of payroll systems for 100+ employees
Annual Financial Reporting experience preferred
General familiarity with payroll
In-house payroll experience highly preferred
Manage Budgets experience
Earlier work involving general ledger
Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills
Strong communication and social skills
Great attention to detail
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, AA is acceptable, or 5+ years experience in the bookkeeping field.
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
5+ years of related experience - Relevant accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
