The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Associate Flight Deck Design Engineer to join the Flight Deck Design team located in Everett, WA. This is a team of highly skilled engineers that are passionate about working on the next generation Flight Deck.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact the design of our Flight Decks from initial design development, test, certification, delivery as well as solving production and in-service fleet issues. The Flight Deck Design team defines the cockpit environment for all Boeing Commercial aircraft. We integrate with Flight Crew Ops, Pilots and our customers to ensure we deliver best in class Flight Decks that improves safety and addresses the needs of the Flight Crew.

As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, you will use your leadership, creativity and problem solving skills to address a diverse range of engineering issues and fully integrate final design solutions

Position Responsibilities:

  • Identifying problems, performing root cause corrective analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Executing all aspects of Systems design, which may include hardware/software development, physical/functional/logical integration and supplier management.
  • Managing equipment throughout the entire life cycle of product development from Requirement development/validation, Proposal , Statement of Work , Program Gate Reviews , Qualification Testing (DO-160), FAA Certification compliance, and delivery
  • Providing support to the Factory and Flight Line to resolve emergent issues.


Design Responsibilities:
  • Crew Seats (Pilot, Observer and Supernumerary).
  • Linings, Consoles, Stowage Dripshields and Insulation Blankets.
  • Installation of Miscellaneous and Emergency Equipment (Fire Extinguishers, Crash Axe, etc.) and HUD (Head Up Display).
  • Secure Door/Bulkhead and Flight Deck Access System.
  • Control Panels, Lightplates, Switches, Annunciators, Circuit Breakers, Equipment, Flight Deck Area and Task Lighting.
    • Assist in the development of the Interface Control Documents (ICD) and model the system logical data in the SLATE tool.
    • Assist in the development of digital and analog systems architecture taking consideration which data/bus formats (CAN, A664, A629, etc.) best supports program objectives and requirements and impacts on data reliability and integrity, fault trees, System Safety Analysis (SSA).
    • Responsible for all electrical aspects such as power loads and requirements on various electrical buses, circuit protection, switch contact ratings, functional schematics and wire diagrams.


This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes , lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience or a Ph. D. degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
