Farm Manager
20 - 30 Hours per week; M-F with some weekends
Hungry Hollow Farm (www.HungryHollowFarm.com) is producing truly pasture-raised meat & eggs in Shelton, WA. Our mission is to provide the Puget Sound region with an alternative to factory farms. We're currently seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Farm Manager to oversee all farm operations.
The Farm Manager will be responsible for conducting activities related to the following farm operations:
Pastured Broiler Chickens
Pastured Layer Chickens
Pastured Heritage Turkeys
Pastured Pigs
100% Pasture-raised Beef Cattle
Grass Hay
Activities include:
Daily care of animals such as feeding, watering, and moving animals to fresh pasture
Leading poultry processing operations (approx every 5 weekends.)
Collecting, washing, and packing eggs (using egg washing machine)
Building new mobile animal shelters using existing designs
Using tractor to cut, rake, bale, and store hay
Splitting firewood
General maintenance of grounds
Packing customer orders
Other tasks as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Positive attitude
Passion for regenerative agriculture and animal welfare
Ability to lift and move 50lbs repeatedly on uneven and possibly slippery ground
Basic carpentry skills
Prior farm experience is not required. Training will be provided.
We'll have a room available for rent at the discounted rate of $300/mo starting July 1 if that is of interest.
