St Andrew’s Place Assisted Living is looking for that fun, “rah-rah,” outgoing person, who has a desire to help seniors live life to the fullest by creating, leading, and finding activities for our resident. We are looking for an Activity Director to enrich the lives of seniors living at St. Andrew's Place.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for planning and organizing individual and group activities to meet the social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs of residents. Communicates available programs to residents and encourages participation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Enjoys working with the elderly; relates well to seniors.
Able to lead and motivate people; excellent interpersonal skills.
Good planning and organizational skills.
Able to communicate well, both orally and in writing.
Self-starter; able to carry out diverse duties with minimal supervision.
Must be flexible as activities may require nights, weekends, and holidays.
Enjoys thinking of new ideas; is creative and resourceful.
Good computer skills
Professional appearance and attitude.
Holds a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
Must like to have fun!
Comfortable taking residents on field trips!
All general staffing requirements:
Free of communicable disease (per DSHS guidelines)
Must have First-Aid/CPR certification accepted by DSHS.
Must have a Food Handlers Permit
Ability to read, write and understand English
General understanding of the needs of the elderly
Willingness to learn
Must pass a criminal background check and a drug test (including marijuana)
Must be willing to get a HCA unless already have a CNA, HCA, or qualifying NAR.
