GENERAL SCOPE: Under the general direction of the Branch Manager, the Assistant Branch Managers role is to is help oversee all aspects of branch operations (Sales, Operations and Administration). Their primary responsibility is that of the Sales Team Leader and to manage the Sales Professionals. This individual must be well versed in all aspects of running the business and be able to assist the Branch Manager on a daily business as needed as well as be able to manage the entire business completely when the Branch Manager is unavailable for any reason. This individual must help Olympic Eagle create and maintain an image of being the leader in the market and possess the ability to train, coach and motivate all branch employees.
Full-time position.
This position requires the ability to be available outside of normal business hours when business needs dictate.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Sales Related
Assist Branch Manager in:
Interviewing, evaluating and selecting applicants for sales team positions
Conduct annual performance evaluations
Monitor Sales Professional performance during their workday and be able to direct and modify employee behavior to ensure processes are being followed, that orders are being written in an efficient and cost-effective manner for the delivery and merchandising of the product.
Schedule and conduct required monthly/quarterly Ride-With and Team Sells.
Creating/implementing/monitoring supplier/internal incentives and pay for performance programs
Review/coach/modify Sales Professionals Friday plans, when applicable to ensure effectiveness
Communicate daily with Branch Manager) and Sales Professionals.
Develop promotional concepts and participate in promotional activities that enhance brand exposure and image as well as increase the customers business
Maintain Olympic Eagles and our suppliers standards for quality and service
Strive to achieve all company sales and distribution objectives
Schedule, coordinate and conduct bi-weekly sales meetings
Monitor and Track POS placement in the trade using the monthly tracking sheets.
Execute all company incentive programs
Responsible for tracking programs and/or incentives when assigned
Become proficient in using the reporting tools available so that sales can be monitored/maximized.
Report all competitive activity in the market place to Branch Manager
Obey laws and regulations of the State of Washington as well as Federal regulations pertaining to the sales and promotion of alcoholic beverages
Run routes as Relief Sales to cover for vacations and other absences as required
Administrative Related
Assist Branch Manager in:
Learning/managing all aspects of our internal Route Accounting Software (VIP) e.g.
A sample of these is: Driver Check in, generating picklists, PDA files, completely afternoon bookkeeping work, routing orders, entering orders, adjusting
Performing all aspects of on-site H.R. matters e.g.
Hiring, discipline, accident review
Submit Payroll and Incentive payouts to Puyallup
Be available for phone calls 24/7 for Transport driver/employees and address any issues as needed.
Make and post weekly work schedules
Send monthly pricing to local chains
Create and print temporary P.O.S material
Operations Related
Assist Branch Manager in:
Review of daily DOT inspection sheets for delivery vehicles address any issues that require attention in the appropriate manner
Monitor usage of all Hoquiam vehicles/assets and schedule all maintenance to ensure longevity and safety, using shadow tracker if needed
In very inclement weather monitor roads via media and/or go out and drive them prior to drivers leaving to determine safety and if to hold them for the day, until daylight or not
Manage Drivers and Merchandisers during their workday and be able to direct and modify employee behavior to ensure processes are being followed
Provide weekend merchandising sheets for merchandisers and make adjustments as necessary
Run quarterly reports and assess the service level by account based upon per stop and make routing adjustments as needed.
Travel to location of equipment breakdowns and do everything possible to get things rolling as quickly and cost effectively as possible.
Trouble shoot and perform draught repairs as needed and ensuring payment is received
Plumb/set up/ be on-site for events where draft trailer is used

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Sales and/or company or industry experience preferred
Must have a valid Washington State drivers license
Minimum of a 6th grade math and English proficiency required
Ability to, occasionally, lift a minimum of 21lbs and a maximum of 160lbs required
Fair computer knowledge, including experience with Microsoft Office
Basic knowledge of Draught systems
