Position Summary:
Responsible for the overall performance of the golf facility. Develop, implement and monitor budgets to maximize utility of resources, return on investments, profitability and customer satisfaction. Safe guard assets including finances, facilities and equipment as well as manage the daily operations of the Pro Shop, business operations and associated amenities of an 18 hole golf course. Liaison with College of Business and Economics regarding the PGA Golf Management Program, Movement Sciences for PE golf, and Athletics to facilitate the needs and requirements of these departments for their students. Organize and host special events for university and business community events.
Minimum Qualifications:
Two or more years experience working in the golf industry and/or golf coaching experience. PGA of America membership in good standing in an active classification Supervisory experience including, hiring, training and supervising employees Experience teaching the game of golf
Preferred Qualifications:
Member PGA Class A-1 Head Golf Professional Bachelors degree in business with emphasis in accounting or marketing, physical education, recreation, or other related field Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills Experienced in written and oral business communications Experienced computer user including; Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Proficient in other applications, i.e. email, internet, tournament and database Certification in PGA career tracks Experience working in a university setting
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Duties of this position require successful candidates to be at least 18 years of age
Must possess a valid drivers license and the ability to meet the Universitys driving requirements
Willingness to work evenings, weekend, and/or split shifts
Ability to lift and/or otherwise move 50 pounds
