We are seeking reliable, dependable, certified, courteous, and professional Flaggers.

Traffic Control Flaggers must be able to stop traffic, advise motorists of any delays, and keep vehicles in proper lanes along the work area. The flagger is responsible for safeguarding his fellow workers on the job, warning motorists of dangers ahead, and guiding them safely through the work area. Flaggers must have a current certification, pass a pre-employment drug test, and be at least 18 years old.
Duties include:
-Lifting over 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
-Problem-solving and understanding the work zone.
-Reading Traffic Control Plans and communicating and understanding specialized needs.
-Work various shifts including night shift and the occasional weekends.
-Show up on time in the correct location with your gear.
-Being dependable and having reliable transportation.
-Be alert at all times and use good communication skills.
-Avoid standing with a group where you cannot be easily seen by approaching motorists.
-Always standing while waiting for traffic.
-Using proper hand signals with the STOP/SLOW paddle.
-Not leaving your post until you are properly relieved.
-Having an avenue of escape if approached by an errant vehicle.
-Having your certification card in your possession while performing flagging duties.
-Having a valid driver's license and current Flagging Card (ie: Evergreen or ATSSA)
-Clean driving record if driving any NWTC vehicle.
Required PPP’s
Flaggers must be dressed in the following manner: Hard hat, approved high-visibility apparel, such as a Class 3 retro-reflective vest and hard hat (provided by NWTC), leather boots above the ankle, 48’ Stop/Slow paddle, and 2-way radios.
