POSITION: Event Planning / Administrative Assistant

The Best Western Plus University Inn is seeking an Event Planning/Administrative Assistant to add to our team. Our ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, organization and multitasking skills as well as a friendly can-do attitude, above-and-beyond guest service mentality, and the ability to work well with our outstanding team members.

Job Description:

Serving as the first point of contact for the Executive Office, this assistant greets all walk-in guests and answers telephone calls in a friendly and professional manner, qualifying the guests needs and then directing them to the most appropriate person or department.

An integral part of the whole hotel, this position works closely with all departments assisting with a variety of needs to ensure a great experience for all of our clientele; primarily printing, cutting, and laminating signage, menus, and informative reading materials as well as entering data, filing records, and maintaining a well-organized, clean, and fully stocked office environment.

Aiding the Director of Catering, this assistant will take on an event planning role and work directly with clients to ascertain the necessary details for creating their ideal events, nurturing the client relationship and carrying out the event planning process from start to finish for some of our smaller scale functions.

Requirements:

Punctuality with the ability to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong organizational skills and the ability to complete multiple tasks in a timely manner

Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced, environment, maintaining an upbeat positive attitude
