Plan and execute cutting edge development to advance the state of the art in machine perception, mapping, localization, as well as low-latency rendering systems
Collaborate with other researchers and engineers across both machine and human perception teams at Facebook to develop experiments, prototypes, and concepts that advance the state-of-the-art in AR/VR systems
Work with the team to help design, setup, and run practical experiments related to large scale long-duration sensing and machine reasoning
Learn constantly, educate others, dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies, and embrace the ambiguity of AR/VR problem solving
Minimum Qualifications:
2+ years experience with large scale distributed systems
3+ years experience with C in a Linux environment
Knowledge with Mathematical and numerical optimization, linear algebra and 3D geometry
Experience translating cutting edge research papers into concrete implementations
Cross-discipline and cross-culture collaboration experience
Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Engineering or similar
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with SLAM, 3D reconstruction, relocalization algorithms or computational imaging
Experience in Big Data (Hive, Spark, MapReduce)
Experience in GPU programming such as CUDA
Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree or completing a postdoctoral assignment in the field of computer vision, robotics or equivalent
