A growing Construction company in the Bellevue area has consolidated all of its Payroll Processing, Payroll Accounting and Payroll and Benefit Administration in to a new position. This position works under a great Controller and a CFO that has received high praise from other professional contacts that I have contacted who know her.
This Payroll Accountant will work as a peer with the Project Accountants and can certainly grow in that direction if they so choose. The Payroll and Benefits related accounting is for approximately 100 employees. This does not include high level or strategic HR/Benefit Administration decision making, unless a candidate has the proper experience and wants to pursue this work, and it is estimated that the Payroll related functions will take around 50% of the time for this position. Due to the growth of this position and the flexibility of the rest of the staff, this position can be a Payroll Administrator who helps with GL or Project Accounting or it can be a Staff Accountant / Project Accountant who also has Payroll experience.
Project Accountants are generally degreed professionals, but candidates with the appropriate experience of can be considered if non-degreed. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of Payroll experience for 75+ EEs (preferably in-house), some general accounting or job costing experience on an ERP system (Viewpoint Vista a plus), intermediate to advanced Excel skills, a high degree of maturity and confidentiality, and a strong verbal and written communication skill set necessary for handling sensitive information with a high degree of accuracy.
