The Tom Douglas Restaurants organization is comprised of 12 restaurants plus several entities engaged in catering, consulting, farming, manufacturing, publishing and retailing activities.
The Staff Accountant will engage preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and account and bank reconciliations and is responsible for assigned duties in monthly closings, account analysis and supporting the Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department.

Primary Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Maintain financials
Enter AP, AR and PR files
Review invoices for accuracy
Reconcile bank and credit card statements
Prep deposits
Maintain filing
Create and Present weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports
Create and present financial reports
Create and process tax reporting
Other Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Interact with all levels of management
Serve as a back-up for staff members
Assist in training of staff and help facilitate questions from management
Comply with all company policies
Requirements
Education and Experience
Associates Degree or certification a plus
Hospitality/restaurant industry bookkeeping experience
Minimum of 3-5 years, progressive experience in a team environment
Demonstrated results
Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles
Knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations
Knowledge and experience of related computer applications; MS Dynamics/Great Plains, MS Office suite; Above-average excel skills required
Affinity with technology. Experience with Toast POS and/or Restaurant 365 strongly preferred.
