The Leasing Agent role is a customer service and sales position for all aspects of leasing the apartments. This responsibility requires a high level of ownership, responsibility and professionalism and creativity in all activities related to leasing, resident relations, resident retention and renewals, lease administration and assisting the Property Manager to maintain stability and maximize profit for the community by creating and maintaining a unique experience for potential and current residents.

Resident/Prospect Relations

Greet and qualify prospective residents. Professionally describe and demonstrate property features to generate an acceptable sales closing ratio. Must present fresh, professional and well-groomed appearance. Must be able to respond to requests from residents as well as following up on service requests to insure that each was completed to the resident's satisfaction and in a timely manner. The Leasing Agent excels at customer service, project manager and sales with an enthusiastic attitude.

Skills & Qualifications

Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload and deadlines.

Computer literate; proficient with productivity software including MS Office, Onesite and Craigslist.

Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal relationship skills.

Experience working with the public in a retail or sales environment.

Friendly with a great sense of humor.

Job Duties

Leasing - Responsible for projecting a positive image and experience to prospective residents and the public in the course of leasing and conducting tours at the property. Make sure that models are open and show units are selected and walked, all common areas are open, refreshments ready, desks stocked with supplies necessary to lease apartments prior to the office opening daily. Turn phones off service prior to the office opening and make sure messages are returned promptly.

Marketing - Assist in the completion of the weekly market study and daily advertising. Must also gain comprehensive knowledge of market, especially direct competition. Responsible for continued contact with locators and brokers. Update property website and other marketing and leasing websites weekly.

Administrative - Screen rental applications, prepare move in packets and lease paperwork in a timely manner. Walk make-readies before units are moved in. Accurately note information on current weekly activity, garage and carport logs as well as leases. Assist prospects in completing applications for utility service, telephone and cable as well as insuring that these services have been correctly scheduled. Check messages throughout the day.

Managerial - Must be able to represent Manager and Assistant Managers in their absence with decision-making capabilities. Must be able to exercise good judgment.

Schedule

Full Time

Hours: 40 hours per week

NOTE: Workweek will include weekends and may exceed the standard 40 hours.

Required

Qualifications: High School Graduate or Equivalent Training

Valid driver's license

Service industry experience

Ability to do essential functions.

Understand and carry out oral instructions.

Read and carry out written instructions

Communicate effectively with residents, employees, managers and vendors (verbally and in writing).
