DESCRIPTION

Job summary
Enterprises of all sizes are moving to the cloud so they can focus on business agility and faster value creation for their customers. With that move, they are making decisions to migrate critical applications, modernize how operate, and manage what's deployed. Our customers do more with less by delivering software solutions on decoupled infrastructure-as-code produced by devops teams. It's a critical time for cloud providers, and Amazon Web Services is investing in making sure we continue to offer the world's best customer experience for our customer's complex challenges.

As a Software Development Engineer on our team, you will design, build, and operate AWS services that will help new customers - big and small - move their IT solutions to AWS, as well as unblock existing customers from achieving even greater value across their businesses. You will become an expert in cloud governance patterns for large customers, which comprises multi-layered use cases to deliver the right technology with the right inflection points. Done right, our solutions eliminate friction between roles in an enterprise cloud center of excellence. Our customers value the peace of mind AWS Service Catalog brings to governance, and has proven especially attractive to companies in healthcare and finance. Across industries AWS Service Catalog has proved instrumental in the success stories of customers looking to expedite delivery of self-service solutions to their teams exploring machine learning, data science, and artificial intelligence.

Work/Life Balance
We understand that sometimes you need to work from home. Outside of quarantine, our team is co-located in the Seattle office and we work from home as needed for a doctor's appointments, to take our kids to school, pick them up, and do the things that can't be done from the office.
This position involves periodic on-call responsibilities. We don't like getting paged, so we build our systems fault tolerant and root cause problems so we're not paged for the same issue twice.

Mentorship & Career Growth
We are dedicated to supporting new team members. Our team has a broad mix of experience levels and Amazon tenures, and we're building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship. You'll have an opportunity to learn from people with and without engineering backgrounds through one-on-one mentoring and thorough and helpful code reviews.
We care about your career growth. You will work on projects and tasks that will develop your skills and enable you to take on increasingly complex tasks.

Inclusive Team Culture
Here at AWS, we embrace our differences. We are committed to furthering our culture of inclusion. We have ten employee-led affinity groups, reaching 40,000 employees in over 190 chapters globally. We have innovative benefit offerings, and we host annual and ongoing learning experiences, including our Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon (gender diversity) conferences. Amazon's culture of inclusion is reinforced within our 14 Leadership Principles, which remind team members to seek diverse perspectives, learn and be curious, and earn trust.

This is a full-time position and is based in our Seattle, WA office located in the heart of the city.
