Description:Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist II (0.4 FTE, Day Shift) to work for Cardiac Catheterization at Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA.The Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist II assists with the performance of a variety of technical procedures including but not limited to the scrub and monitor roles in percutaneous diagnostic and interventional cardiac/vascular procedures and open surgical procedures under the direct supervision of a physician. Participates in all daily duties necessary to perform high-quality patient care and imaging within the Cardiac Cath Lab. Responsible for obtaining optimal angio images and assisting the physician in an aseptic and sterile environments. Must be capable of patient monitoring and demonstrate knowledge of appropriate response to changes in patient condition. The role includes management of the imaging and PACS systems and recording/monitoring role during procedures. Must achieve and maintain in-depth knowledge of case types performed in the dept. including complex diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular and peripheral vascular cases. Knowledge of and expertise in use of equipment/supplies is required. Must be capable of assisting the physician; this includes emergent and rescue patient care. Must be available for on-call shifts as required with 30 minutes response time.In this position you will:Demonstrate functional understanding of various radiology imaging equipment to include digital x-ray and computer assisted applications.

Maintain ability to calibrate and perform analysis functions for vessel diameter and stenosis.

Understand the set-up and operation of monitoring equipment and vital sign recording. Provide for documentation in procedure flowsheet as necessary. Assess patient vital signs and condition as required, notifying physician of any changes.

Demonstrate knowledge in reading electrocardiograms. Demonstrate knowledge in heart pressures and wave forms. Demonstrate knowledge of advanced cardiac life support skills.

Demonstrate the ability to work as a cohesive team member with all technologists, nurses, and physicians in a variety of roles to include scrub tech, circulating and recording tech.

Qualifications:Required qualifications for this position include:Two (2) years invasive cardiovascular program or successful completion of a formal Radiologic Technologist program

Six (6) months Tier 1 technologist to advance to Tier 2

Two (2) years continuous cath lab in a busy cath lab performing complex cases

Certified by the Washington State Department of Health as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist and Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification OR State Certified Radiologic Technologist – Diagnostic license

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN)

ACLS

Preferred qualifications for this position include:Interventional Radiology

May consider less experience in an aspiring motivated candidate with RCIS licensure
