WHAT YOULL DO:
As our Service Advisor and Department Assistant, you will be the face and voice of our branch. You will have the first opportunity to give our customers an excellent experience and ensure their needs are met which makes you so crucial to our teams success. You will ensure that all service department work orders are opened, maintained, proofed, and closed in the most efficient way possible, all while ensuring you provide an excellent experience for our customers. Every day you will oversee service and warranty work orders, assist in shop workflow, check-in equipment for repair, and assist customers. When you are not assisting customers you will also perform various administrative duties to support the Rental Administrator and the service department. This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security and human spaceflight.
As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will lead implementation of risk and opportunity management in the rocket Engine Business Unit of Blue Origin, ensuring the safe and rapid development of innovative engines and propulsion systems for space applications. You\'ll work closely with a small team of systems engineering risk managers to set high standards for risk and opportunity management, and improve our processes, tools, and training. Through daily interaction with engineering and program management teams, you\'ll guide discussions, create mitigation plans, mentor colleagues, and ensure transparency in decision-making. Your role will help programs adapt their plans ahead of time to achieve better outcomes. As the Engines risk discipline leader, you will foster a culture of risk awareness and proactive risk management within the organization, encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing among team members.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Act as a subject matter expert on risk and opportunity management, providing guidance and support to colleagues and stakeholders as needed
Manage risks and opportunities at the program and business unit level
Analyze and report on trends and patterns in risk and opportunity management data to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement
Periodically review or audit program-level risks to ensure compliance with standards and best practices
Lead the development and implementation of risk-informed decision-making processes across the organization to drive strategic program planning
Develop filters and dashboards using JIRA & Confluence to inform priority and decision-making
Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies for risk and opportunity management to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure high-value and alignment in risk and opportunity management approaches
Conduct regular risk and opportunity management training sessions for engineering and program management teams to enhance their understanding and proficiency in these areas
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor\'s degree in engineering or a relevant technical field
10+ years of system development/integration experience, preferably in aerospace or complicated technical systems, including some aspect of new product development
A track record of successful risk management leadership in complex, high-profile aerospace projects, demonstrating the ability to drive strategic risk decisions and achieve favorable outcomes.
Expertise in risk management standards, methodologies, and state-of-the-art tools
Strong understanding of engineering principles, particularly in the context of spaceflight applications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations, identify potential risks and opportunities, and develop effective mitigation plans.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead discussions, mentor team members, and engage with stakeholders at various levels.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to set and maintain high standards for risk and opportunity management.

The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on the development, manufacturing, and operation of spacecraft and systems. The vehicles and technologies we develop will provide mobility and infrastructure to enable persistent, dynamic operations in GEO and beyond.
As Special Programs Lead you will work with Blue Ring\'s team of world class engineers and mission designers to formulate solutions for diverse and challenging problem sets for Civil, Commercial, and National Security user communities. You will support the development of technology roadmaps and support the development of Blue Ring vehicle block upgrades.
We\'re looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and creativity; to join our team and positively impact the future of space. Passion for our mission and vision is required. Successful candidates will have a technical background, broad based understanding of spacecraft systems, and a working knowledge of mission design. Recent experience in Defense or Intelligence spacecraft programs is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Collaborate with the Sales Marketing and Strategy team to identify, architect, or invent solutions and responses to customer needs and solicitations.
Utilize design tools (CAD, MATLAB, Julia, etc.) to develop and analyze mission and payload concepts.
Be a general purpose, fire-and-forget problem solver that\'s able to operate and thrive in a changing, dynamic environment.
Lead and provide technical direction to the Studies and Concepts team to support the development of mission designs, system concepts, trade studies, and technical roadmaps for Blue Ring block upgrades.
Mentor and train team members to help develop a \'deep bench\' of technical talent and foster career progression.
Technical oversight and leadership of customer-focused, mission-enhancing hardware projects.
Minimum Qualifications
B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering, or related technical subject area
Active (within the last 2 years) TS/SCI clearance
10+ years of Technical Experience of spacecraft systems engineering or architecture development
Familiarity with DoD and IC mission sets, trends, threats, and opportunities
Proficient with CAD tools for concept development and configuration (CREO preferred)
Experience developing and managing spacecraft budgets (mass, power, thermal, dV, etc.)
Strong skills in the use of mission design software, such as STK or Copernicus
Strong background developing CONOPs and top-level requirements decomposed from Customer needs
Experience with Mission Analysis and Mission Planning for spacecraft missions
Project leadership experience of a technical team
Outstanding Customer relationship skills; including, but not limited to, the ability to discover the requirements underlying feature requests, recommending alternative technical and business approaches, and leading engineering efforts to meet ambitious timelines with optimal solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be a U.S. citizen
