OVERVIEW .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; The role of the Registration Coordinator is an essential part of the patient facing registration experience by providing support and ensuring each patient encounter is positive, professional and efficient. The primary function of this role is to create new registrations, check patients in for scheduled and walk-in clinical visits throughout the outpatient setting of the hospital. Registration Coordinator duties may also include: scheduling patient return visit appointments, coordinating care with other services, minimizing clinic access delays, triaging patient calls to appropriate resources, collecting and/or updating demographic and insurance information, collecting co-pays, identifying legal guardians, medical decision makers and maintaining standards for infection prevention, and establishing systems and resources to improve processes and efficiency of the patient experienceand.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; .and.nbsp;REQUIREMENTS .and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp;.and.nbsp; Required Education/Experience: - High School Diploma or equivalent. - Minimum of one (1) year customer service and/or administrative support experience. Required Credetials: - For staff that work in schools, a fingerprint check is required at time of hire, using a Washington state criminal identification fingerprint card. The record check shall be through the Washington State Patrol Criminal Identification System and through the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Fingerprint checks must be within the previous two years. Environment of Care & Regulatory Readiness: Instructs families and visitors in hand hygiene protocols. Participates in the education of patient/families to unit practices/routines and orients patients to unit per protocols. Rounds the unit in accordance with department regulatory standards i.e. keeps hallways clear, equipment plugged in. Keep work area clean and clutter free. Posts signs, i.e. hand hygiene, NPO, free water restriction etc as appropriate. Reinforces with patients isolation protocols and communicates concerns to the nursing staff.
