AltaSource Group is seeking a Senior Java Developer for our global logistics client in Seattle, WA! They provide services such as air and ocean freight forwarding, vendor consolidation, customs clearance, marine insurance, distribution, and other international logistics services. The Information Systems- Operational Experience portfolio is responsible for developing core business applications that enable their worldwide network to efficiently manage and transport transcontinental freight. These systems satisfy customer and organization business requirements and provide solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. The developer understands business problems and opportunities and applies technical skills in the design, development and testing of data flows, applications, and systems. This position works on the Transportation Data Pipeline (TDP) that bridges multiple application's data models and maps the differences in business processes to allow their global system to function seamlessly. About You: Your knowledge and skill-set should include the following:5 -7 years' experience with Java software development Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experienceProficient with Spring, Kafka, Kafka Stream and SQL Experience with integration and data transformation in complicated systemsKnowledge in CI/CD, Containerization (e.g., Docker, and Kubernetes)Experience with XML, Microservices, and Event Driven ArchitectureExperience with IntelliJ IDE's, Git, Maven, NexusExperience with scaled Agile methodologies, e.g, SAFe.Proficient in driving technical and process improvementsUnderstanding of the transportation/global logistics industryAbility to produce high quality code (e.g., testable/extensible, maintainable) for complex technical solutionsDemonstrated ability to communicate technical details to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersProven interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectivelyProficiency with the software development lifecycle, especially Agile techniquesEffective at navigating ambiguity and mitigating risksExcellent time management and organization skills Salary information: up to $80/hr. D.O.E. Up to $5,000 additional signing bonus.Note: This position is an onsite contract role with the potential to extend or convert full-time.
