Amazon Prime Video is growing, and we are looking for Software Development Engineers (SDEs) who move fast, are capable of breaking down and solving complex problems, and have a strong will to get things done. SDEs at Amazon work on real world problems on a global scale, own their systems end to end and influence the direction of our technology that impacts hundreds of millions customers around the world. At Amazon, an SDE can expect to design flexible, scalable solutions and work on some of the most complex challenges in large-scale computing by utilizing your skills in data structures, algorithms, and object oriented programming.

The Prime Video Mobile Android team is responsible for the Prime Video app on Android phones and tablets or Amazon Fire tablets. Our app reaches tens of millions of customers around the world and we routinely work with Product Managers, UX Designers, Technical Program Managers, and software engineers from other teams.

Some examples of what our team does:

• Work on building a great user experience in different flavors of Android (Java/Kotlin).
• Build flexible solutions to dynamically update customer experiences without app updates, including web services to support our mobile apps.
• Experiment with customer facing experiences to understand what resonates best with them.
• Build and maintain features that delight our customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 4+ years of professional software development experience
• 3+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
• 2+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead OR leading an engineering team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Android; Java/Kotlin
• Experience mentoring and influencing an engineering community on complex technical issues
• A lifelong learner with avid curiosity about mobile trends, capabilities, and limitations.
