Robert Half is looking for a Technical Writer to support a large Public Transit Agency in the Seattle, WA area!
Location: Remote - Occasional need to go on-site to Seattle
Duration: 6-month contract with potential for extension
Pay: DOE - Please specify your pay rate information
Day to day:
• Working with developers/engineers/system administrators in writing documentation
• Creating "how to" articles and videos. Collects, organizes, analyzes, and synthesizes complex IT Security, IT Infrastructure, and ST subject matter and transforms it into easy-to-consume information tailored to specific audiences.
• Edits, proofreads, and validates documents to ensure that quality and content objectives are met. Reviews and clarifies content with subject-matter experts.
• Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single sourcing
• Publishes documents into a secure system according to security guidelines and corporate procedures. May publish documents on Intranet using SharePoint designer software
Requirements
Must Haves:
oExperience - at least 5 years of experience as a Technical Writer
Experience creating documentation for technical infrastructure and data centers
Experience creating network and "as built" diagrams
oTechnical Skills
MS Office for creating documentation
Visio or any other similar tool for creating diagrams
SharePoint for uploading and publishing documentation
oSoft Skills
Strong collaboration / communication / team player
Solid written skills to contribute to documentation
Nice to Haves:
oPrior experience with other types of IT documentation - KB articles, etc.
