FLYING APRON GLUTEN-FREE & PLANT-BASED- PREP CHEF, LINE COOK - WANTED!

Position: Prep Chef, Kitchen Assist
Status: Part to Full-Time, 24-30 hours per week
We're looking for someone who wants an opportunity to learn and grow on the job. Have you been interested in cooking? Curious about volume food production? Considering the culinary arts? WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
A capable, self-motivated Prep Chef, Junior Sous Chef, Kitchen Assistant to rely upon for food prep, organization and pitching in when necessary to keep the kitchen running smoothly. This is a great great entry-level role at our growing business. We'd love it if you already knew how to operate a commercial dishwasher, but it's not necessary. The ability to learn, commitment to excellence and motivation to expand yourself and your skills are more important.

The Flying Apron. We're a 100% dedicated gluten-free & plant-based bakery and cafe, home-based in Fremont with retail locations in Fremont, Redmond and beyond. We serve a variety of wholesale and retail customers with a need for delicious, delightful gluten-free & plant-based baked & savory goods. At the Flying Apron, it's not about what you can't eat! We're growing and expanding. We're paving the way for alternative baked & savory goods that non gluten-free & plant-based individuals crave!

You're a responsible, self-motivated; your work-ethic is legend. You can't help but keep busy as idle time makes you crazy. You're the kind of person that can't stand a dirty kitchen, must do the dishes at night before going to bed because the thought of a messy kitchen makes you crazy. You take pride in your work, and don't need a boss peering over your shoulder to motivate you to move. You've demonstrated leadership with prior jobs or with school, you're committed to quality and want an opportunity to learn, grow and move up in a community supported environment. You understand that your role as a member of our savory function is essential to the hum and harmony of a busy commercial kitchen; you want to learn more about the culinary life, and realize that this is a great way to get in at the ground level, learn and grow.
WHAT'S REQUIRED
Education: high school diploma. Associates or 4-Year degree is a plus - culinary degree is a PLUS!
Age: minimum age is 18
WHAT THE JOB IS
Hours: 24-32 hours per week
Shifts needed for coverage currently: Daily between 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Location: Fremont Neighborhood, Seattle
Tasks: Food Prep, Production
We are expanding our Savory Menu and need folks committed to creating supporting and developing this channel. We have a Head Chef - training will be provided - we need executors.
