Patient Financial Counselor

Description:

Title: Financial Counselor

Location: Everett

Specialty: Reproductive Endocrinology

FTE: 1.0: Full Time – 40 hours/week

Shift: Day: Monday – Friday

General Duties include:

Responsible for meeting with patients to review treatment plan and financial options available.

Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating demographic, financial and insurance information.

Responsible for obtaining and entering referrals and authorizations on behalf of the patient into the system.

Obtains accurate benefits/eligibility information for the patient.

Review loan programs with patients without insurance benefits.

Responsible for reviewing and interpreting patient accounts.

Determines and obtains deposits for procedures.

Review financial history prior to cycle start and collects outstanding balances.

Inform Payments & Collections team when account has outstanding insurance balances.

Listen and respond to patient inquiries.

Works effectively with the clinical team to determine and communicate correct financial obligations to the patients.

An ideal candidate will have

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office working within patient accounts

Medical record and billing software experience preferred

Proven attention to detail

Excellent communication skills
