JOB DESCRIPTION
Full-Time Monday-Friday
Assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians with medical procedures including, but not limited to, obtaining blood and urine samples, wound care, emergency first aid
Patient care including administering medications, post-surgical monitoring, processing lab samples, digital radiography, and caring for hospitalized patients
Cleaning and sterilization of instruments and equipment
General Animal Husbandry tasks such as cleaning kennels, feeding, administering medications to patients, monitoring, documenting and reporting details of patients' health to veterinary technicians and veterinarians
Maintaining general hospital cleanliness and sanitation, dusting, keeping counters and floors clean, laundry, sanitizing and restocking exam rooms
Client care and front desk support role includes client communication, patient triage, preparing and maintaining accurate medical records, data entry, emailing, scheduling appointments, and answering phones as needed
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
1-year veterinary experience preferred, but not required
Self-starter interested in pursuing a veterinary career
Comfortable and experienced with properly restraining and handling cats
Interpersonal communications skills to communicate important medical information with pet owners and other veterinary staff
Familiar with medical terms, abbreviations, and veterinary terminology
Has the ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and maintain organization
Positive attitude, highly personable and dedicated to providing exceptional customer service
Thrives in a fast-paced environment and remains calm under pressure
Professional written and verbal tone
Proficient computer and typing skills
Experience with Cornerstone software is a plus, but not a requirement
Has reliable transportation and is punctual
Able to lift 40 lbs.
