Operations Manager Childcare Center

Childcare Center in North Seattle is seeking an experienced, highly organized and detail-oriented positive, go-getter to support our Director and members of our childcare staff as the Operations Manager. This individual will thrive in a fast-paced environment and has an ability to handle competitive priorities seamlessly. Our Operations Manager will provide flawless execution of administrative activities, with superior attention to detail, organization and process and demonstrate ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, discretion and judgment. This individual will provide a strong, strategic partnership with the Center Director to improve day-to-day efficiency. The Operations Manager serves as a trusted confidant, bringing flexibility, customer-centric focus and strong interpersonal communication skills to the team.

Responsibilities include a blend of various types of operations, administration and human resource skills. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree and two years of experience as an Operations Manager, Business Office Manager, HR Manager, or Executive Assistant, preferably in an educational or non-profit setting. This person needs to be technology savvy; have very strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; and have excellent problem solving and time management skills. This individual should be interested in early childhood education and demonstrate a passion for lifelong learning and development. Human resource-related duties include:

Assists in the administration of various office management and human resource functions.

Assists in the interpretation and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.

Partners with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations.

Operations-related duties include

Collaborates with others inside and outside the organization as necessary to deliver service; recommends process improvements and create efficiencies in how work is accomplished.

Perform incidental general office tasks

Work efficiently and effectively with software necessary to post items to the website and provide edits as necessary

Ensure that the school is in full compliance with all licensing and safety regulations

Submit and file annual childcare licensing compliance agreement

Update licensing paperwork and schedule any needed inspections

Write and annually update policies and plans for dealing with various types of emergencies in the school

Managing the day to day operations of the center

Ensuring that center goals are consistently met or exceeded

Building and maintaining relationships for effective communication, internally and externally

Effectively and quickly address issues with flawless follow-through

Demonstrate the ability to interact professionally and build relationship with all levels of staff within the Center.

Department support: Process highly confidential and sensitive information.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 2+ years of Operations, HR Generalist, Office Management, or Executive Assistant experience required preferably in an education or non-profit environment.

High School Diploma or equivalent, and minimum of four years of progressively responsible related work experience.

Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.

History of maintaining confidentiality of sensitive communications.

Ability to organize daily workload by priorities.

Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment.

A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.

Professional level verbal and written communications skills.

Professional appearance and telephone manner are essential.

Ability to work with others using courtesy, tact, and good judgment.

Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimal or no guidance.

Valid state driver's license.

Must have reliable transportation.

Excellent skills with Microsoft Office software, including Googles G-Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Gmail and Google calendar.

Must pass a criminal background check prior to hire.

Additional Qualification Criteria

Knowledge of business English and grammar sufficient to write and edit materials.

Must be able to occasionally work overtime.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.

Ability to multi-task, handle frequent interruptions, maintain focus, and meet deadlines.

Ability to proactively seek out information and solutions, and keep current on new and changing information and technology.

Organized, accurate and flexible in order to accommodate changing priorities.

Supervisory experience and ability to effectively manage staff
