Basic Function:

This function requires a thorough knowledge of field sales. The incumbent drives sales performance within the market area by creating business plans, establishing a regular call plan, conducting market events, discovering new business and helping the accounts grow with all brands. This person will assume complete responsibility for prospecting, profiling, and opening new accounts within their area. This position requires initiative, a highly developed sense of responsibility and a proven record of one or more years of success in sales. Business planning experience is highly desirable. The incumbent must be customer service oriented. Knowledge of sales activities and related sales problems is essential. The position exists for the purpose increasing Salon Services penetration in territory across all product lines. The job requires an increase client base, retaining and growing existing business through dissemination of sales promotions and development of business strategies. Incumbent will fully ensure there is follow-up on leads generated by SSS/Vendors marketing and sales. You have the ability to complete job responsibilities with minimum supervision.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties will include:

Physically servicing an average of 10-12 salons a day

100% KPI obtainment:

2 New Color Doors per consultant each month-hair only

2 New Wet Line Doors per consultant each month-hair only

2 New Smoothing Doors per consultant each month-hair only

1 New Extension Door per consultant each month -hair only

3 New Skin Doors per consultant each month-skin only

2 New Cosmetic Doors per year-hair and skin

Minimum growth per consultant of 5% over same period last year and year to date-hair and skin

100% goal obtainment-hair and skin

30% color sales to all other sales ratio and 50% service to all other sales ratio-hair only

Achieve Sales Targets by vendor and by region per month/quarter/year with a goal of 0 vendors with 0monthly

Hosting and attending educational opportunities within the market on a continual basis

Conducting live demonstrations of product in salon or showroom environments on a continual basis

Sell allocated amount of established educational events/classes

Maintain and enhance knowledge of all products, services and clients

Certified in all product lines carried to be able to educate all clients on product usage and sell through

Maintains communication by following the 24-hour response guideline

Adherence to master routing schedule determined by management

On-site servicing of all active accounts on a monthly basis, as well as potential accounts, within the physical location versus tele-support per call cycle (unless otherwise approved by management)

Complete and submit all required paperwork in accurate and timely manner

Maintain and continuously update files and account profiles on each stylist and salon within the required method

Provide consistently high level of client service with a goal of zero client complaints

Develop and implement detailed, comprehensive programs to build salon business (3-month planner) within a minimum of your top 10 accounts

Support the activities of the manufacturers' representatives staff

Adherence with all departments company policies, procedures and programs

Preserve and promote the Salon Services image in all trade relations

Assist with sales efforts with Showrooms, Skin Team and Inside Sales

Actively uses tools (such as kits, samples, literature) provided as suggested in a timely and effective manner to increase sales

A minimum of 8 presentations scheduled out on calendar at any given time

A minimum of 50 active Opportunities across all brands at any given time logged within the required method

Monthly planning meetings with a minimum of top 10 accounts

New product launches and events quarterly in minimum of top 10 accounts

Attend required company functions

Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma required; BA/BS degree preferred

Minimum of one year field customer service or sales experience, preferably in the beauty industry, or consumer goods required

Experience with servicing Salons, Spas, Resort, Physicians offices, and Sole Proprietor customer base is an advantage

Client building experience is a real plus

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

The ideal candidate should have an understanding of the requirements of todays salons/spas and be reliable, dedicated and willing to work as part of a winning team

As an ambassador of SSS, the candidate must incorporate the companys mission and commitment to its business partners at every point of contact with both internal and external clients.

Depending on the territory, overnight travel to certain markets is a requirement, as well as vehicle travel to visit accounts daily.

Master all brands product knowledge and skin care technique, particularly how they differ from competitors, and ways to best feature to a prospective account.

Present 3 categories (Education, Services and Products) to each customer every time

Sincere delivery of the manufacturers concept within each line represented and how it is positioned in the salon, both in retail and back-bar.

SOCIAL MEDIA:

ÂSocial Media plays a vital role in the success of the position-

Employee must have, at minimum, an active Facebook and Instagram page they are willing to use for work purposes, or be willing to create a new page on each platform dedicated to work

Creation of a closed group on FB to network and share pricing that cant be displayed in public forums

At minimum daily: 1 share and 1 like from Salon Services pages or one of our partner vendor pages

At minimum weekly: 1 spotlight of a stylist/salon within the employees territory

At minimum monthly: 1 live event, interview, or education posted on each platform

Adherence to Salon Services Social Media Policy

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The position requires daily travel by car to visit prospective accounts, and depending on territory size, requires overnights monthly to build prospective accounts outside of driving distance. The position requires attendance at sales meetings such as monthly meetings and national sales meetings which will require overnights. Participating in regional or national trade shows may be a requirement and those once-a-year events often overlap with weekends.

The position will require servicing of accounts during our normal operating business hours of M-F 9am-6pm but can be altered based on the market and account needs. This position has varying hours based on the needs of the accounts, the company, and the market. Availability to meet the needs of the stylists and salons during off-hours and days is necessary.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
