I am a general contractor and I am seeking an individual interested in apprenticing in the building and maintenance trades. My company performs small-medium remodels, commercial repair work, and the full “handyman” circuit for residential clients. You will have an opportunity to learn a wide range of skills that will allow you to grow into a confident and well-rounded carpenter. Most of what I do is:
Rot Repair
Drywall Patching
Cabinet and Trim Installations
Exterior Repairs (Siding, Trim, Roof Patching)
Window and Door Replacements
Custom Shelving and Miscellaneous Woodworking
Light Framing
Flooring
Decks
Furniture and Office Assembling
Maintenance and Janitorial Duties
Additionally we also expedite a variety of works for other general contractors, builders, and design firms. You will have opportunities to expand beyond the listed scope of work above as well.
The company is marketed as a high-end service provider, and we have dress expectations when interacting with clients.
You will need to present as clean cut, and wear our uniform. (White tee or button up & black slacks, shorts, or overalls)
To start you would have 20-25 hours a week, and within a few months this could easily become a full-time position.
For the right individual that is self-motivated, trustworthy and willing to take on more responsibility; becoming an independent technician with a company provided vehicle is a possibility. That pay range is $25 – 40/hr.
Health insurance, including dental and vision after a 90 day probationary period.
If you are interested in applying for this position, please send me a resume and a cover letter that includes:
A brief personal introduction. What do you value and how do you spend your time?
Your interest in becoming an apprentice, and your willingness to grow with the company.
How you deal with difficult people and overwhelming situations.
