What is a CVAB?
CVAB is a PEER SUPPORT organization SHARING HOPE and EMPOWERING RENEWAL as we encourage self-determination and self-sufficiency for people in mental health and substance use recovery. The heart of our agency is peer-to-peer support because we are people in recovery wanting to support others on their life’s journey. The Opportunity
the Skagit Valley REACH Center is located in Mount Vernon, WA. CVAB is looking for a Certified Peer Counselor—individuals who have lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery—to be a Peer Employment Support. The Peer Employment Support uses their lived experience and developed skills to support individuals in recovery with achieving employment goals.
The Responsibilities
Provide quality peer and employmentsupport services in alignment with CVAB Core Values and Core Competencies for Peer Workers in Behavioral Health Services (SAMHSA). The Peer Employment Support will focus their efforts on meeting individual employment goals through methods described in the position description on the Employment page of CVAB’s website. (see below).
The Qualifications
We are looking for people that are positive, self-motivated, who have demonstrated the ability to work independently and well with others, are in mental health or substance use recovery, and really good at being with others seeking something better or different in life (see CVAB website).
The Bennies
$16-$19 per hour depending on experience and other considerations. Fulltime employees qualify for paid PTO, medical/dental insurance, 401k retirement, voluntary Long-term Disability and Life Insurance and CVAB’s Employee Assistance Program.
