Sage Building Solutions is a general contracting company, specializing in bringing comfort, health, and efficiency to buildings. We have three arms of the company: weatherization, HVAC, and general construction/remodeling. This is a heat pump installer position in our HVAC department.
While Sage is located on Lopez Island, we perform work in all of the San Juan Islands and commute via the inter-island ferry. Mainland applicants must be interested in relocating to the islands and becoming part of our close-knit community; come for the lifestyle as much as for the job.
Applicants should have significant experience installing ductless heat pumps. You must have a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset. Sage is a smaller, family-owned and operated business; we strive to maintain a crew that is fun and hard-working. You must be able to respectfully and competently interact with and communicate with clients and colleagues.
HVAC Installer Responsibilities and Requirements:
Mechanical knowledge of HVAC systems
Sufficient carpentry skills to support heat pump installation
Ability to work hard and work smart, balancing attention to detail with productivity. Self-motivated.
2+ years heat pump installation experience
Valid driver's license - we provide a fully-stocked installation vehicle
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Applicants must be physically fit, and able to frequently lift or carry 20 to 75 pounds and assist with up to 120 pounds. Must be able to stand, bend, squat, sit, kneel, crawl, climb, carry, crouch and kneel
Typical work performed in buildings, however, working conditions can include unheated areas, crawl spaces, roofs and all weather conditions
Legal ability to work in U.S. with required documentation
Ability to communicate in English, verbally and in writing
