The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for an experienced UX (User Experience) / UI (User Interface) Software Engineer (Level 3) to join the Ground Segment Engineering Capability team located in Tukwila, WA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

We are currently looking for talented individuals to develop cloud enabled user interfaces using continuous integration continuous delivery (CI/CD) software development practices.

In this role, you will be a part of the Boeing Enterprise transformation of DevSecOps across the company. The successful candidate will work full lifecycle development to design, implement and manage cloud applications in a fast-paced Agile SAFe framework. Position Responsibilities:

Design and Develop Cloud-Native User Interfaces.

  • Executes against defined guidelines and best practices for cloud-oriented development & implementations
  • Embrace common look and feel design philosophies
  • Familiarity with graphics designs techniques and tools
  • Ability to demonstrate interactive designs to customers utilizing prototypes and wireframing
  • Supports troubleshooting application deployment issues
  • Research/analyze issues (such as application integration, performance etc.) and provide recommendations and resolution as needed
  • Create and deliver front end user interfaces
  • Familiarity with the latest tools & technologies like React JS, HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, Adobe illustrator and Photoshop, GIMP, JQuery, Node JS, Java/J2EE
  • The ability to work in an Agile SAFe environment with a product mindset
  • Proven ability to develop & deliver high quality code
  • Strong communication & presentation skills


This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate may be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start).

Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • Ability to obtain Secret Security clearance (Post-start)
  • Possess a Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other technical degree
  • 2 plus years hands on experience developing web and mobile UI interfaces
  • 2 plus years hands on experience with micro-service development
  • 2 years Developer experience using Git in Linux Environment
  • 2 plus years' experience utilizing continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
  • 2 plus years' working with SAFe or Agile methodologies
  • 4 plus years of experience in software development
  • Ability to independently execute & deliver on the backlog


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience in deploying, administering, maintaining and upgrading one or more of these applications: React, AWS Amplify, GitLab, API Gateway
  • 3 plus years' experience implementing AWS solutions design and deployment of enterprise-scale applications
  • 3 plus years of experience in public clouds (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Test Driven Development


Typical Education/Experience:
  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience)
  • In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard


Travel:

Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.
