Fire Protection Engineer

Opportunity

Morrison-Maierle is recruiting to fill a fire protection engineering position. Duties will include performing consulting services for external and internal clients utilizing fire protection engineering technical skills. This will include but not limited to: automatic suppression system design; perform existing sprinkler system inspections; perform computer based hydraulic calculations, fire detection,; fire pump and code analysis; fire resistant construction analysis; as well as general fire protection and life safety concepts and research. Must be able to perform all aspects of design and construction administration independently.

We are looking for an individual who has the potential for leading the fire protection engineering group. This person must be motivated to establish Morrison-Maierles presence in this specialized market as well as have enthusiasm for helping grow the group.

This position will work innovatively and collaboratively with the firms full service Mechanical, Electrical, Structural Buildings Market Group, as well as with the Civil Engineering disciplines within Morrison-Maierle to create comfortable, healthy, energy efficient, sustainable, and productive spaces. Our team approach to buildings and structures promises to deliver final projects that are coordinated, cost-effective, sustainable solutions that will meet the needs of our clients for the long-term.

Project Types: Airports, Higher Education, K-12 Education, Municipal, Healthcare, Government, Hospitality, and Mining.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in engineering or related field from an accredited college or university. Must have NICET level III or IV certification or a professional engineering (PE) license is preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire protection related profession. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit design software a plus. Working knowledge of Fire Protection codes.

Must be team oriented individual interested in being fully engaged in their work and making a difference in the communities they serve. High level communications skills are required, both written and verbal. A positive attitude and willingness to learn and work hard for overall project success are imperative. Strong organizational skills and aptitude for detail are essential. Must be willing to travel and provide support at job sites.

Must have a valid driver license and insurable driving record.

Salary $60,000 - $80,000/yr

Location Bozeman, Helena, Kalispell, and Missoula offices are the preferred locations but will consider any location where Morrison-Maierle currently has offices.

Relocation allowances are available.
