James A. Sewell and Associates, LLC is currently recruiting for an Engineer in Training to support our Newport, Washington office.
JAS is an established Structural/Civil Engineering and Land Surveying firm with offices in Newport and Spokane, Washington and Sandpoint, Idaho.
Our Newport office is in need of an Engineer in Training to perform construction inspection, material testing and engineering design/drafting duties. Current workload will require 40 hours per week. JAS offers competitive wages and full benefits. Wage dependent on qualifications and experience.
The Newport area offers great opportunities for relocation to this area. The area offers affordable housing, an excellent school system, and a variety of commercial services. Newport is located adjacent to the Pend Oreille River, which along with nearby access to National Forests, provides an abundance of recreational opportunities.
Desired qualifications include:
Bachelors of Science Civil or Environmental Engineering Degree from an accredited college is required;
Engineer In Training Certificate is required;
Civil Engineering experience is desired, but not necessary for a quick learner;
Construction knowledge would be helpful;
Good communication skills;
Attention to detail;
Interest in learning and growing;
Ability to work as part of a team.
