Senior Business Analyst - SQL, ETL
The Sr. Business Analyst is a key position in a challenging and fast paced IT department. The successful candidate will join a cohesive team that is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving all business applications required to run our company. This position will assist with setting strategy to ensure we provide reliable solutions that enable achievement of strategic business goals that maximize business return.
Opportunity for remote/onsite work. Will relocate candidates.Responsibilities:
- Define, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain SQL stored procedures, functions, tables, triggers, views, constraints, indexes, SSIS packages, MS Power Platform, LowCode/NoCode Platforms, etc.
- Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlock issues, connectivity issues, and security issues within the SQL Server environment.
- Assist with and help set direction for Business Intelligence technologies including ETL processes, data warehouse and data mart schemas, database replication, and presentation layers.
- Direct the analysis, design, development and maintenance of reports, interfaces, import and export processes for web, SharePoint, and client/server, and hosted applications, including API and JSON scripting technologies.
- Participate in and facilitate new system evaluations and existing system upgrades. This includes requirements gathering, software research, business needs analysis, and all other SDLC related tasks and processes.
- Responsible for supporting various business applications (finance, forestry, sales, etc.) and the end users tasked with using those systems. Assist users and data owners with technical issues and company policies as they relate to business systems.
- Responsible for business application maintenance which includes reviewing and participating in decision making for requested enhancement, change requests, and bug/fix analysis. Develop clear and concise understanding of business processes being supported.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to other staff members as it pertains to technology advances and strategic alignment with business partners.
- Gather, develop and maintain documentation on assigned systems and interfaces. Train end users on new and existing functionality as the need arises.
- Ensure compliance with departmental, corporate and governmental policies and procedures, including the performance of regular audits of key SOX controls.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science or related field (desired).
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in systems analysis, requirements definition, system design and system implementation, as well as system programming, development, and/or management.
- Advanced skills using database query and management tools.
- Minimum of 5 years of SQL Server development skills including stored procedures, functions, tables, indexes, triggers, views, etc.
- Extensive practical knowledge of exporting and transforming data for use by 3rd party and internal hosted and OnPrem applications.
- Ability to interact with a diverse user base in a competent and professional manner.
- Ability to coordinate and manage system upgrades across a broad geographical base.
- Experience with system quality assurance (QA) and testing methodologies.

- Presentation and training skills.
- Excellent communications skills (written and verbal).
