The Environmental Services Aides work according to established policies and procedures to clean, sanitize and service assigned areas throughout the hospital; including but not limited to patient care areas (nursing units, ER department, Operating Rooms, procedural rooms, public areas, offices, etc.)
Physical Demands:
Work is active
Frequent lifting of up to 25lbs
Occasional need to lift up to 50lbs
Requires constant walking and standing
Frequently requires stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching
Ability to move patient beds, carts, etc.
Finger and hand dexterity to adequately handle necessary equipment/supplies
Emotional Demands:
Able to alter plans/routines when unexpected
Able to handle stressful situations and multiple interruptions without projecting stress/frustration
May be exposed to the following workplace hazards (proper personal protective equipment is provided and expected to be used)
Blood and bodily fluids
Biological hazards and patients with infectious diseases
Hazardous chemicals and/or drugs
Radioactive materials/rays
Contact with patients that can be confused and combative
Desired Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to communicate fluently in English (speaking and writing)
Able to work as part of a team
Great customer service
Open availability of both days of the week and shift times
