POSITION DESCRIPTION

The non-profit organization RPG Research seeks a motivated and energetic Volunteer Fundraiser to support our research and community programs by working with the Board of Directors and Executive Staff to raise donations and other resources.

This is a volunteer part-time position with very flexible hours, around 1 to 10 hours per week, on average around 3-5 hours per week.

Reports to the Vice-chair and Vice-president. The primary function is to create fundraising campaigns and initiatives that raise funds and other resources for RPG Research's community events and research projects.

POSITION DUTIES

  • Create and manage online fundraiser campaigns and initiatives.
  • Create and manage print fundraiser campaigns and initiatives.

  • Contact local organizations for donations & sponsorship.

  • Contact national and international organizations for donations & sponsorship.
  • Attend one or more RPG Research project/event per month.

  • Opportunities to become senior fundraiser coordinator over time.

  • Can work remotely much of the time, but prefer local candidates that can contact local organizations in-person to help improve success of fundraiser efforts.

This is a volunteer opportunity.

  • Donor management skills, training, & experience.

  • Successful fundraiser skills, training, & experience.
  • 1+ years successful fundraiser experience for non-profit organizations.

Optional but preferred skills

  • Grant Writing / Research

  • Formal training in fundraiser strategies and techniques

ORGANIZATION

RPG Research is a non-profit 501(c)3 non-profit charitable research & human services organization studying the effects of music & role-playing games and their potential to improve lives. We work with a wide range of populations from 2 years old through senior adults, and many populations with special needs including: at-risk, anxiety, Autism spectrum, brain injuries, cerebral palsy, Deaf & Hard of Hearing, mental health, muscular dystrophy, visually impaired, and many others.

We are dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families living in the communities we serve, and around the world.

We aim to further our mission through:

  • Providing the world's largest, free and open research repository on the effects of music and role-playing games.
  • Community Events - we host a multitude of events, often educational or recreational in nature, throughout the year with the hopes of offering residents in our target communities a positive alternative to their normal surroundings.
  • Regular online broadcasts and special event programs to educate and raise awareness.
  • Speak at public events like professional conferences and fandom conventions.

  • Community Outreach Programs - we offer a number of programs directly to sectors of our target communities including senior citizens, children, young adults & many others.
