PLANS EXAMINER / BUILDING INSPECTOR
Position assignment: December 2019 up to October 1, 2020

THE POSITION: This opportunity is a great way to familiarize yourself with the Community Development Department. The individual in this position reviews construction plans and performs field inspections ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, ordinances and policies. This position may last up to October 1, 2020.
$18.27 to $20.86 per hour depending on experience

Perform inspections, review plans, record results and calculate project requirements as well as communicate with all customers and professionals involved in helping to facilitate the permit and inspection process

DO YOU QUALIFY?
Do you have a Bachelor of Arts/Science Degree in Engineering, Architecture or related field
OR do you have a high school diploma/GED and an Associates Degree in Building Inspection, Engineering, Architectural Drafting or related field and a minimum of 2 years related experience?
Do you possess or have the ability to possess a drivers license and be insurable?
Do you possess an ICC Residential Building Inspector certification?
Do you have a working knowledge of Building, Mechanical, Energy, and Fire Codes; state housing laws, local zoning ordinances and health and safety codes; construction plans, materials, methods and safety standards?
