Find your future with us.Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) in Tukwila, WA is seeking an experienced (18+ years) highly skilled Systems Engineering leader, to be the AEW&C Wedgetail Ph5A ASC2 Chief Engineer and Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) manager.This exciting position will be leading the program responsible for upgrades to the Wedgetail fleet including; mission computing hardware and software, datalinks, crypto modernization, SATCOM communications, navigation, Identification Friend or Foe, and power distribution. The 5A Phase you will be a part of consists of multiple planned releases and has successfully delivered aircraft in two configurations, with the third planned configuration just getting underway. The program’s Air Vehicle, Mission Systems, and Systems Engineering and Integration Teams, averages approximately 60 engineers. Additionally, you will coordinate and align with the Boeing Defense Australia (BDA) Ph5A Chief Engineer and the 5A Program Manager, as well as the BDA Wedgetail Chief Engineer.Position ResponsibilitiesSenior Engineering leader for the program - primary advisor to program leadership and represents AEW&C Wedgetail Ph5A in Program meetings including the Chief Engineers Council, Program Change Board, Program Reviews and the Division Safety Meeting

Execution of safety and technical excellence on the program

Safety and product integrity

Final RAA for specification, configuration, design, and certification/verification (including all changes).

Management of applicable regulatory matters

Ensures technical conduct, progress, performance, and results are executed in compliance with established requirements, plans, program charter and RAA, and that the required technical leadership is in place at lower levels.

Provides senior technical leadership for the program and associated proposal, and be the senior technical interface to customers and suppliers.

Establishes a culture of proactive technical oversight, risk management and rapid issue resolution, providing alternative paths for issue resolution and an open dialogue on technical issues.

Implements and enforces engineering functional excellence in people, processes, tools, and practices; drive productivity improvements through the use of the lean principles disciplines; and share best practices and lessons learned.

Works with functional counterparts to understand and ensure process inputs and outputs are clearly defined to enable products and services to meet requirements and be delivered on schedule and within costs.

Overall cost account manager for Phase 5A engineering teams.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering or science related field

15 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (engineering related experience)

Experience leading engineering teams Experience mentoring technical teams

Preferred QualificationsExperience in functional analysis

Experience in engineering of large-scale systems and overall systems engineering disciplines.

Experience working with AEWC aircraft or command and control aircraft platform.

Experience in military aircraft logistics or maintenance.

Ability to adjust priorities to multiple demands and unanticipated events

Highly motivated and must work well in a team environment

The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing certification

Typical Education/ExperienceEducation/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience).
