Blue Star Growers, a pear and apple packing warehouse in Cashmere, Washington, is seeking Fruit Sorters to assure the grade and quality of fruit.
Essential Functions: The Fruit Sorters view and sort fruit to meet grade and market standards and place fruit onto the appropriate conveyor belts for packing.
The Fruit Sorters will take direction from the Sorting Assistant to sort correctly into the different grade of fruit. Job duties include placing fruit onto the appropriate conveyor belts for packing. This includes full understanding of fruit defects. Maintain product quality standards by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety and Employment Policies.
Primary Responsibilities:
Must be able to take direction from the Sorting Assistant,
and sort into the different grade of fruit.
Be able to recognize fruit damage such as insect damage, fruit punctures and frost damage.
Experience/Skills:
Be dependable with a strong work ethic.
Have good communication skills and be able to follow directions.
This is a full-time seasonal position and is paid $13.50 hourly.
