Independent Warehouse, Inc. is a pear packing, storage and shipping warehouse located in Dryden, WA.
We are currently seeking a packing supervisor for the 2019 packing season. The packing supervisor will demonstrate their ability to lead our packing operations, coach employees, teach skills and direct work in a manner that supports and extends our company culture of integrity, safety and excellence.
Essential Functions
Know and understand the packing equipment (in feed, sizer, stamper, taper etc.)
Operate the packing sizer computer to maintain consistent throughput
Perform grower changes to ensure accurate grower pack-out
Maintain PLU sticker machines throughout shift
Manage sorting, packing and line support staff
Perform monthly safety meeting and all standard operating procedures
Maintain supply inventory for bi-weekly ordering
Desired Qualifications
Technical knowledge of Van Doren packing equipment
Knowledge of pear varieties and grade standards
PC based computing experience (Durand-Wayland Sizer, MS Excel, MARKSnMORE)
Knowledge and experience with principles and practices of business management including personnel practices, employment laws and the appropriate methods and means of dealing with human behavior situations in a variety of circumstances
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of supervision and training
