The Behavioral Entomology lab at the WSU Tree Fruit Research and Extension Center in Wenatchee is looking for an Entomology Technician, starting immediately.

This position will last for approximately 6 months. It may include occasional hours on weekends. Pay scale dependent on experience and performance. Pay is hourly and does not include benefits.

The technician will perform fieldwork and lab work with minimal to no supervision and may require supervision of another employee. Daily field tasks may include monitoring for insects in the orchard via trap checks, collection of samples, visual observations, etc. Lab work will include data organization, entry and complete documentation of methods used. The applicant needs to be able to navigate to various experimental locations, collect data from the field and perform other routine duties as outlined by the supervisor.

Required: Bachelors degree and a valid drivers license. Physical agility is needed for fieldwork (walking, bending, lifting). Ability to climb ladders. Ability to problem solve independently.

Preferred: Background in biological sciences. Familiarity with orchard operations.
