Purpose:
The Accountant position helps maintain Bleyhl Co-op’s financial records to ensure compliancy with laws, regulations and the organization's policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures that all accounting functions are performed accurately and in a timely manner;
- Ensures timely filing of external reports
- Reviews and reconciles accounting records and subsidiary ledgers/schedules to appropriate external/internal reports and transactions;
- Perform complex account and financial analysis and reconciliation
- Prepares required journal entries to properly record revenues and expenses on a timely basis;
- Responsible for data integrity and reporting for all integrations between systems
- Plan, organize, and collaborate with team members during month-end close process;
- Presenting thoughtful proposals to management for resolution of issues encountered, and ensuring all deadlines met by team
- Work effectively with operations to determine appropriate treatment and issue resolution prior to presentation to management
- Ability to problem solve and make recommendations to management
- Strong analytical skills and ability to understand details but also see big picture and propose action
- Ability to communicate with management (verbal and written) regarding complex issues
- Applies financial policies and accounting theory
- Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
- Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions
- Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
- Perform all other duties as assigned
