We are a successful general contracting company that takes pride in building unique residential and commercial projects and are currently hiring an Architect who has professional character and is dedicated to developing a career within our company. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, be motivated and a problem-solver, have a high level of attention to detail, possess unyielding personal integrity, and be flexible and able to adapt to changes within the work environment.

Duties and Tasks:

1) Obtain and assemble data to complete architectural designs, visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary.

2) Draw rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings and structures, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data.

3) Lay out and plan interior room arrangements for commercial buildings, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software.

4) Determine procedures and instructions to be followed, according to design specifications and quantity of required materials.

5) Analyze building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural designs.

2) Drafting, Laying Out, and Specifying Technical Devices, Parts, and Equipment Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.

3) Getting Information Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.

4) Thinking Creatively Developing, designing, or creating new applications, ideas, relationships, or products, including artistic contributions.

5) Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.

Knowledge, Experience, Education:

1) Design Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

2) Building and Construction Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction of houses, buildings, or other structures.

3) Mathematics Knowledge of arithmetic, geometry, statistics, and their applications.

4) English Language Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
