There is one opening in the Yakima County Public Services Department. This position performs reviews and investigations of building plans for compliance with Federal, State, and County building and fire regulations; provides interpretation of regulations; evaluates proposed alternative methods of compliance; provides advice and information to design professionals and the public. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Building Construction, Engineering, Architecture, Building Inspection, Fire Science, Safety & Health or a related field and Two years’ experience related to plans examination, safety and health management, investigation and inspection, building or construction management and techniques, or similar field OR the equivalent education and experience to perform the essential duties of the job. Required: ICC Plans Examiner (within one year of appointment), Valid WA State Driver’s License and proof of insurance or able to obtain, Successful completion of a General background investigation.
