This person may be the specialized treatment provider in a multiple provider plan. Assigned clients may be those with special issues including: domestic violence, substance abuse, sexual assault, anger management, personality disorders, developmental delays, duel diagnoses, complex diagnosis, and other cases requiring advanced expertise in evidence based practices. These services will be independently provided to clients in either an office or home setting. This position vital to assisting clients develop self-sufficiency, self-efficacy, and control over their lives and the raising of their childrenQualifications

Education: Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or relevant field;

Experience: A minimum of two years of supervised experience in the direct treatment of mentally ill persons in a mental health or social service setting. An understanding of different psychological theories of change, treatment strategies, and ability to collaborate with other service providers both within and outside of the agency. Knowledge of advanced evaluative techniques of personality, academic, behavioral and cognitive domains. Ability to perform appropriate assessments, crisis intervention, risk management, and case coordination skills.

Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Any one of the following licenses are acceptable for this position and must be obtained within 60 days of hire: In WA state: Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA), Licensed Social Worker Associate Advanced (LSWAA), Licensed Social Worker Associate Independent Clinical (LSWAIC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA), Certified Counselor (CL), In OR state Certified Social Worker Associate (CSWA), or Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW) . WA or OR state issued Driver's Licenses, and proof of insurance. First Aid/CPR card within 30 days of hire.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required: Flexibility, strong assessment skills, strong intervention skills and the ability to blend social work practice with the overall functioning of the MSS health care team, in a limited time frame. Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to form and sustain effective relationships with clients, team members and community providers; understanding of federal, state and county regulations as they pertain to social services; ability to manage time, resources and client caseload; knowledge of human growth and development, throughout the life-span which can be applied to a psychosocial assessment and intervention methods; knowledge of brief counseling techniques and crisis intervention; knowledge of pregnancy and post-partum issues; ability to provide effective consultation; and the knowledge of poverty, family disorganization and health issues. Familiarity with advanced evaluative techniques of personality, academic behavior, and cognitive domains. Ability to utilize the DSM V and multi-axial diagnostic process. In designated bilingual positions must demonstrate ability to communicate at level 10 on the ALTA language proficiency scale.
