Leave Management Specialist Yakima Administration - Human Resources Full-time, 40 hrs/wk, Exempt This position is located in Yakima, Washington. We are interested in all qualified candidates, including those outside the area who are open to relocating to the Yakima Valley. Relocation allowance is available. An HR professional with proven experience in leave management including but not limited to FMLA, Non-FMLA, USERRA, workers' compensation, and disability programs.

Someone who is well-versed in all areas of employment law relevant to leave management and related programs.

Someone who highly values integrity to maintain confidence and protect private employee information.

A clear communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to handle stress and calmly deal with issues that arise. Maintain a logical, methodical approach to problem-solving with a high degree of emotional intelligence.

A warm and approachable person who will build positive relationships with staff at all levels of the organization from entry-level to chiefs, and create partnerships and work in cooperation with other HR team leaders and staff.

A self-starter, able to work independently with a proactive approach to completing projects and resolving issues, but also capable of working collaboratively with others when needed.

A strategic thinker who looks for opportunities to improve processes and motivate change.

Good time-management and organizational skills, ability to recognize problems and identify solutions with a sense of urgency and a focus on outcomes and meeting deadlines.

Experience in non-profit, healthcare, and/or with a multi-state, multi-location organization is preferred but not required.

What You'll Do:

Coordinate leaves with Safety, Human Resources, and Payroll, working with HR Business Partners, third party administrators, and management staff, ensuring accuracy of employee leave information and compliance with federal and state leave laws and regulations.

Help coordinate employees' benefits while on leave, including paid/unpaid leave, health benefits, dependent coverage, etc., and the return to work process.

Handle all workers compensation claims from inception to closure, assisting Quality and Risk department in required accident investigations.

In conjunction with the Quality department, develop and maintain reporting, investigation, and correction processes to comply with code and corporate risk management requirements.

Complete required OSHA reports and surveys for all YVFWC sites and works with Human Resources Business Partners to distribute required annual postings.

Review and process ADA requests in an interactive process, documenting the steps taken and ensuring the correct individuals are involved in a determination on all accommodation requests, and run the ergonomics program.

Review, recommend, and implement revisions to YVFWC leave, ADA, Workers' Compensation, and other applicable policies to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.

Conduct training for HR staff and supervisors in the areas of leaves of absence, workers compensation, ADA, and other topics as requested by the Senior HR Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Related applicable experience may substitute for required education.

At least 3 years' experience in leave of absence administration including worker's compensation claim administration experience.

Current driver's license and proof of auto liability insurance coverage.

Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Benefit Professional preferred but not required.
