This role works closely with the Sr. Manager of Communications and Advocacy to ensure consistency with the YVFWC brand platform aesthetic and messaging. Under the direction of the Sr. Manager of Communications and Advocacy, the Communications Coordinator will nurture existing relationships with news media and cultivate new relationships across our service area.in order to highlight the work done by YVFWC. The Communications Coordinator is familiar with a variety of media management, and social media practices, and procedures that will aid in elevating the profile of the YVFWC. The Communications Coordinator will also act as the agency's corporate photographer and videographer for initiatives with broad, external interest. In order to ensure continued relevance, the Communications Coordinator will be expected to stay abreast of the most current Social Media and Earned Media technologies and strategies. The Communications Coordinator will also work with the Web Analyst to update and maintain content on existing YVFWC external web properties and the YVFWC Intranet as needed. Interfaces include the media, internal partners, news reporters, and vendors.Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, or related field or equivalent work. Experience: Seven or more years of proven success in the fields of Communications including but not limited to writing communications materials for public distribution, photography, videography, and multi-platform social media marketing. Licenses/Certificates/Registration: None Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required: Strong communication skills (written and verbal), planning skills, experience with managing people and developing/maintaining strong relationships with the media. Experience working with elected officials on the local, state and national levels. Candidates with copy editing, photo editing and HTML editing experience preferred.
