Are you looking for a part time job with flexible hours and be off work and home in time for dinner? Do you want to make a difference in your community helping those most in need? If so then Catholic Charities is currently looking for someone to work in our St Vincent Store and Food Bank (this will require some weekend work).

As a Customer Service/Food Bank Coordinator you would;

Assist in the operation of food bank and basic thrift store functions. These functions may include but are not limited to all facets of recruitment and retention of volunteers, donors and clients. Provide all aspects of customer assistance as well as perform cashier duties as assigned. Monthly reporting for food bank and date entry will be required relative to food bank reports and time sheet entry. This is a 29 hour per week employment with divided responsibilities between the food bank and thrift store.

Food Bank

• Donations

o Keep inventory of all food bank donations

o Assess donation needs of food bank and implement solutions that address those needs

o Develop community donation drives to increase inventory

o Submit in a timely manner monthly donation reports

o Create and maintain community partnerships to support the growth of food and cash donations

• Volunteers

o Assess food bank in needs in regards to volunteers and recruit and retain volunteers accordingly

o Mentor and train food bank volunteers

o Create strategic community partnerships to increase volunteer opportunities

o Ensure all volunteers follow policies and procedures in the handling of food and safety

o Ensure all volunteers follow client registration processes

o Maintain open communication and good relationship standing with food bank volunteer level

• Data Entry

o Maintain organized data in regards to clients, donations and volunteers

o Submit in a timely manner monthly reports to supervisor and reporting grant agents

o Submit time sheet on time, every time

o Maintain records of up to date policies and procedures for all aspects of the food ban

o Compiles with agency guidelines relative to computer usage

Thrift Store

• Donations

o Receive and/or assist with pick up donations in accordance with agency policy

o Process donations according to established procedures

o Display donations per set guidelines, and as instructed

o Prepare donation receipts

o Assist with donation pick-ups as needed

• Customer Assistance

o Assist customers by providing information and purchase assistance

o Provide switchboard back-up

o Represent the agency by maintaining a professional and pleasant demeanor

o Work within the guidelines set forth in the St Mission Statement and the Catholic Charities USA Code of Ethics

• Data Entry

o Perform simple data entry tasks related to time keeping

o Compile with agency guidelines relative to computer usage

• Janitorial

o Perform janitorial duties according to established standards and as directed

o Contribute to maintaining acceptable overall appearance of store floor, production area and grounds

Education

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience

• 2 years' experience in a related field is desired

• Excellent attendance history

Special Skills

• Ability to exercise excellent judgment

• Solid communication skills

• Ability to work successfully individually, as a team member, with donors and customers
