Medstar Transportation is looking for a Lead Mechanic to join our team!
This position is responsible for overseeing all facets of the daily operations of the vehicle, ensuring compliance with the state, and federal laws, policies, and regulations. Day to day maintenance and repairs of the Medstar Fleet. This position is on call 24/7 for all vehicle issues / service reminders / Fleet Item Failures and breakdowns. This position oversees the Shop and vehicle repairs in its full entirety.
Responsibilities:
-Oversee development and operation of a computerized maintenance management system, a component of the department-wide management information system.
-Oversees activities, vendors, and supplies for fleet; administers and monitors contracts for compliance and controls costs
-Develops and institutes new and progressive means of delivering customer awareness and financially responsible service to organization users and general public.
-Evaluates preventive maintenance programs; modifies programs as necessary to increase efficiency, service, and effectiveness.
-Manages operation of motor vehicle repair, service,Shop, and storage facilities.
-Manages the Fleet Team
-Reviews yard operations and smooth effective operations quarterly.
-Participates in development, implementation and maintenance of policies, objectives, short-and long-range planning; develops and implements projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of established goals.
-Maintains and oversees all electronic data applicable to department.
-Goes on-site for maintenance repairs as needed
-Vehicle on boarding
-Maintains good vendor relations
-Maintains in shop and progress on a daily basis to ensure accurate scheduling of vehicles.
-Maintain issues section on a daily/weekly basis
-Assist with key-in's and necessary vehicle knowledge
-Monitors all vehicle needs
-Vehicle Sale/Purchase acquisitions
-Manages fleet inspections
-Manages Shop inventory and reports
