Our internal business intelligence applications are used globally by all business lines to drive product and business strategies, build customer loyalty, and identify new opportunities/threats for Visa and our partners. We are also in charge of creating a Single Source of Truth to further strengthen data driven decision making internally and for our clients.

The GBI (Global Business Intelligence) team is responsible for delivering projects that enable both Visa teams and Visa clients to make informed decision to achieve their business objectives. The team closely collaborates with business stakeholders to understand the business needs to provide solutions to gain business growth for Visa.
The GBI team is a center of excellence in Business Intelligence at Visa; this is a high-performing team of data analyst, and business analysts with various cultural backgrounds – serving all geographies including North and South America, Africa, Europe and Asia. GBI team is looking for an associate product manager, a person that adopt new business intelligence skills.

KPIs are:

  • Reduce operating cost: Deliver BI projects on time, and within budget and ensure the projects delivered as per business requirements and executed within set timeliness; Comply with processes that track tasks and also always suggest on improving processes to bring further efficiency.
  • Increase operational performance by broaden GBI’s reach through education and accessibility.
  • Work as a team to build confidence in business decisions that result in new ideas and products for Visa clients and Visa Inc.

The Associate Product manager role within GBIProduct will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Develop deep understanding of the Visa business, process, data/BI platform (e.g., MicroStrategy, Tableau, PowerBI and more), as well as data. In the meanwhile, maintain an awareness of current industry trends, products and techniques.
  • Closely work with other product owners to collaborate with internal customers, stakeholders, and BI platform users to understand business requirements and identify opportunities for enhancements to the current platform.
  • Assist in conducting analysis of platform issues, tracking and managing them through resolution in collaboration with Technology teams.
  • Assist in the development of self-service analytics using MicroStrategy, Tableau, PowerBI and similar toolsets.
  • Coordinate and participate in user acceptance testing of functional requirements as needed.
  • Review all project documentation and provide necessary feedback per project plan.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 6 months of work experience or a Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of work experience

1 year of experience in product development.

Is willing to approach difficult or complex issues with product development
Is willing to approach ambiguous, open ended problems
Demonstrates basic knowledge of problem-solving methods

Customer Centricity
Ability to understand on a basic level the data customer journey, data customer needs and can articulate the data customers point of view
Ability to understand on a basic level the product’s value proposition to the internal data customers
Thinks with a “customer-first” mindset when developing the product

Cross-Functional Communications
Ability to understand how to communicate appropriately with other employees and stakeholders
Ability to understand at a basic level various stakeholders’ functional skills and capabilities applicable to group efforts but strives to fill the knowledge gap of stakeholders’ skills and capabilities
Ability to achieve basic results when communicating with others across other functions
Ability to work closely with other team members and key stakeholders in technology, product and the rest of the business

Technical Fluency
Ability to understand how to leverage technology to solve problems in the workplace
Ability to learn how to build ongoing technical expertise to stay relevant to the payments industry overall
Ability to understand at a basic level how products are developed from a technical standpoint
Prior experience working with reporting & data visualization tools such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, etc. a plus but not required
Basic knowledge of SQL would be a plus
Basic knowledge of Agile (Scrum) project methodology and practices is a plus

Work Location
Hiring primary location is

Arlington, VA, but other Visa Campus locations such as Foster City, CA in US may be considered.

Physical Requirements

This position, in future, maybe performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
