Abolitionist Ale Works is a fast growing brewery, pub and restaurant located in the heart of Downtown Charles Town.

We are looking for an experienced dedicated, responsible, detail oriented, energetic pizza cook to join our team

Job 1

Kitchen Staff - Cook

The right candidate must be able to prepare, cook and get pizzas ready for servers in a sometimes very fast paced, high volume environment with many tickets coming in a short time. We also have a short appetizer menu.

Previous kitchen experience is preferred & health code and standard food safety procedure knowledge is required. Serv Safe Certification is Preferred

Our pizza menu is an artisan one, cooked fast over high heat with unique ingredients and combinations.

The pizza cook will also be responsible for managing the kitchen during their shift, particularly in regards to keeping it clean at all times to health code specifications, managing prep and taking inventory. We also look to the chef for ideas on special pizzas for our menu

Hourly rate is negotiable based on experience and availability to work.

Ideal candidate has a schedule open to 1-2 weekday shifts and 2-3 weekend shifts (Fri, Sat, Sun)

Kitchen Manager

In addition to everything above, the kitchen manager will be asked to work a full time schedule with a bump in hourly pay. Qualified candidate must have at least 2 years experience working and/or managing in kitchens. The kitchen manager will take the majority of our 9 cooking shifts throughout the week and manage the schedule for the remaining shifts. It will be the responsibility of the kitchen manager to manage the schedule and be sure that all shifts are worked which could mean covering shifts that your staff calls out of. The kitchen manager will work with ownership to interview and hire new employees as necessary.

The kitchen manager will work with ownership to tweak existing policies and procedures and be responsible for their implementation and completion. Policies will emphasize maintaining health code standards, professional conduct etc.
