Company: A-Zone Environmental Services, LLC, an environmental consulting and services firm, is seeking an experienced Construction Foreman to join our growing team. This position will be based out of our office located in Charles Town, West Virginia. Work sites are located throughout the US.
Job Description: The Construction Foreman will be responsible for the direct oversight and management of staff and subcontractors working on diverse environmental construction projects. Much of the work is related to demolition, restoration, earthwork and stormwater. Responsibilities include coordinating with the client to schedule work and services, developing schedules to meet contract requirements, providing direction and coordination of field activities and choosing, costing and securing appropriate materials and/or equipment required to complete projects. The right candidate must also be able to handle the reporting requirements (daily reports, production reports, etc..). This position will require hands on equipment operation alongside crews. The Foreman is responsible for doing the job in a safe and efficient manner.
Job Responsibilities:
ï§ Supervise and direct field crews and subcontractors.
ï§ Ensure implementation of health and safety and project work plans.
ï§ Manage crewâs labor and equipment time in order to achieve maximum productivity and meet budgets.
ï§ Interface and communicate with clients in a professional manner.
ï§ Operate and maintain heavy equipment.
ï§ Oversee delivery and off-loading of supplies and materials.
ï§ Complete field reports, daily reports, production reports, etc..
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
ï§ 5+ years of experience operating heavy equipment to include dozer.
ï§ Must have earthwork experience (cuts/fills, laying pipe, meeting grade).
ï§ Knowledge of best practices for commercial and environmental construction including sequencing of work.
ï§ Previous experience as a construction foreman required.
ï§ Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
ï§ Knowledge of construction contracts, subcontracts, and the bid process.
ï§ Ability to manage budgets and schedules.
ï§ Strong leadership required to manage crews.
ï§ Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma, GED or vocational school supplemented by college level or training courses in project management and environmental science, or related field.
Requirements:
ï§ A valid driverâs license is required and a safe driving record as measured by company policy
ï§ Must be able to pass a background check.
ï§ Must be able to obtain access to military bases across the United States.
ï§ 40-hour HAZWOPER with current 8-hour refresher and 30-hour OSHA certificate preferred.
ï§ Pre-employment, periodic and random drug and alcohol testing is required for this position.
Physical Requirements: Work may be performed under extreme weather conditions including hot and cold ambient temperatures. Tasks involve bending, lifting, walking, carrying and using a force equal to lifting 50 to 100 pounds. Employment is dependent upon passing drug screening and physical examination by medical professional for the anticipated work requirements.
Salary: This is a full-time, salaried position. Pay is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
