The Sr Accountant &


Financial Analyst will act as the primary accountant and


analyst for Monongalia EMS. This person will lead and support accounting


services related to preparing, analyzing, maintaining and reviewing various


financial statements, records, and reports. The incumbent provides support to


the Director of Finance (CFO) and serves as the backup for purchasing for Mon


EMS.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR



LICENSURE:

1.



Bachelors Degree in Accounting,


Finance or another related field from an accredited college or university.



2.



Valid Drivers License.



EXPERIENCE:

1.



Three (3) years of financial and/or


accounting experience.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE:

1.



Five (5)


years of financial and/or accounting experience.



2.



Experience in


Healthcare and/or Emergency Services Administration.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The


statements described here are intended to describe

1.



Performs and


leads general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance


and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements, such as


balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and capital expenditure schedules.


Provides interpretation of results as appropriate.



2.



Prepares, records, analyzes, and reports


accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for


completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and


principles.



3.



Provides


financial support including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations


from budget. Analyzes and prepares statutory accounts and financial


statements and reports.



4.



Compiles monthly,


quarterly, and annual financial statements. Gathers, processes, analyzes, and


evaluates financial data. Verifies compliance with policies, procedures,


internal controls, and GAAP.



5.



Prepares and leads


as point person for annual financial audit.



6.



Identifies


and reports outliers within general ledger accounts.



7.



Independently


identifies and analyzes trends within financial and statistical data.



8.



Prepares and


maintains financial records and data in preparation of IRS 990 tax returns.



9.



Prepares and


maintains financial records and data in preparation of internal and external


financial statements; supports external reporting processes.



10.



Manages fixed


asset database for additions, retirements, and changes.



11.



Follows standards


developed by appropriate governmental bodies.



12.



Completes


projects as assigned by CFO.



13.



Manages the


maintenance of the companys accounting system.



14.



Reconciles


monthly corporate credit and fuel card statements and transactions; Manages


distribution and maintenance of fuel cards for the Mon EMS fleet as needed.



15.



Bills and


collects special event revenue as needed.



16.



Serves as


backup for Mon EMS purchasing function as needed; well-versed in vendor


relations, supplies utilized, etc.



17.



Leads the


Accounts Payable Process; Maintains vendor accounts.
